Intersectionality 101 - Virtual Workshop

Intersectionality - blank.png

Intersectionality is a term to describe the interaction between aspects of identity, social structure and power.  Coined by feminist scholar, Kimberle Crenshaw, intersectionality was a lived reality before it became a term.  Understanding intersectionality is crucial to working in an individual and communal transformation framework.

This Culture Care virtual workshop training provides an introduction to intersectionality and invites participants to explore how social identities (like race, gender, nationality, age, ability, and more) impact them as individuals moving through the world.

As a participant you can expect to leave this workshop with more awareness around the intersections of privilege and oppression in your own life, as well as resources for continued learning and practical ways to make the cultures and communities around us more welcoming for many different and intersecting social identities.

The virtual workshop is 90 minutes long and will be led by our Intersectional Engagement Director, Torri Williams. Cost is $25. And you can register below.
