Well-Being is the increased awareness and growing practice of living a fulfilled and flourishing life. It is not a standard of wellness you arrive at and maintain indefinitely. It is not a state that is only achievable by able-bodies and neurotypical minds. It is not something to leave to chance, circumstance, or privilege.

A Little Story…

  • In 2016, Lark’s Song joined over 800 professional leaders in the fields of positive psychology, education, wellness, business, government, communications, and public health from all over the world to launch an emerging field of study and practice that we call “Well-Being Education.”

    At the International Positive Education Network Festival, we were asked to describe in one world what we wanted most for the next generation. “FLOURISHING!” was the unanimous answer delegates gave from all different cultures and backgrounds.

  • Since then, we have been leading with our international colleagues to accelerate collective flourishing and maximize well-being by creating pathways to access the research and resources that are available to as many people as possible.

    We believe that well-being is for everyone! And that means doing a lot of work to represent, reach, and revolutionize the work of increasing well-being in a society that is often capitalizing on an idea about “wellness” that is both oppressive, inaccessible, and ineffective.

  • We created thew Well-Being Certificate to educate and equip community and corporate leaders, educators, and parents about what we really know and what we don’t know yet, when it comes to human well-being.

    This isn’t one more thing to add into your budget or schedule on top of everything else. This is a framework to synthesize into your life that shifts you toward well-being with a cellular, communal, and generational impact.

The Well-Being Certificate

We have asked people all over the world what they want most for the people they love in just one word - and over and over again we hear the same thing - we all want fulfillment and flourishing. Sadly, most people go through their lives thinking that they’ll only have this experience if all their circumstances are perfect OR they happen upon it by trial and error. We know now that there are specific, evidence-based interventions that drastically impact and increase our fulfillment and flourishing - and we want you and everyone that you care about to know what those are and how they can fit your life. We also want to equip you to share them with the communities and spaces that matter most to you.

Multiple cross-cultural and international studies have shown that when well-being education is introduced into public education systems and classrooms, the overall well-being of the students and faculty go up. This increase in well-being also has been shown in multiple studies to increase academic success, decrease anxiety and depression, and increase clarity around life purpose. When well-being initiatives are introduced in workplaces employee satisfaction and engagement goes up and turnover goes down.

The seven facets of well-being are Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, Achievement, Mindfulness, and Embodiment. The Lark’s Song Well-Being Certificate is a 32-hour evidence-based training program to increase well-being. Each training session is focused on the seven facets of well-being, the research behind them, and the evidence-based interventions to increase each one. Participants that complete the training will understand how to increase well-being in their life, in the lives of others, and how to integrate that learning into their life and work.
